Oskar Holweck was born on November 19, 1924 in Saint-Ingbert, Germany. He studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in Saarbrücken from 1946 to 1949, then at the Ecole des arts appliqués à l’industriel in Paris from 1949 to 1951. In 1956 he taught at the Saarbrücken school of arts and crafts. In 1958, Holweck joined the international artist group ZERO. Holweck has earned a reputation as an internationally recognised and valued artist. He died in 2007 in his hometown, at the age of 82.
